Flying out on Monday and changed my money to Euros didn't really want to take any UK money with me so wondered if I can use euros in the airport

Its available however its best to exchange a small amount at the Bureau de change available in the terminal the exchange rate this way will be higher than if you used it in an airport shop as they can charge the exchange rate that they set (in order to profit)
and like mentioned previous the change you get wont be in euros it will be in pound sterling so its just more reason to exchange a small amount rather than use it at the till.

Most shops or restaurants in international airports accept the banknotes of top currencies; however you will get a lousy exchange rate and you will get the change back in £ Sterling..

The Brits' were too smart to get hooked on that Euro thing. You can exchange your currency for theirs at a currency exchange place. There will be a fee for that service.
