It depends on which contry and what laws they have (and also which countries passport you have) - if you are coming from the UK most 'uk friendly' countries allow you to enter as a visitor for a set period of time without a visa. Other countries you will need to arrange a visitors visa or a working visa.

I actually tried to go over there (UK) in February. I had a return ticket and everything and was only going to stay for 2 months. Once I got into the airport and faced the immigration officers, they called the guy/my friend I was going to be staying with and asked why I was there and how long I would be staying. For some STUPID reason, this guy told them that I was there looking for a job and he didn't know when I would be leaving. Can you believe that! So they actually detained me, until they went through all of my things and realized that ... actually I'm not sure what they were trying to figure out. I had a return ticket!! My advice would be to just not mention that part. They don't want people to go over there and work illegally, so they are like ultra paranoid about it.

Hi there, I work in visa consulting and am happy to provide you with some basic advice - you can email me on Jessica.Stooke@Visalogic.net - I will need to know what passport you have, what country you are currently living in and where you want to look for a job.

Get a passport. They cost about 75.00 catch a plane you can usually stay for 90 days before you have to leave. However, if you get a visa you can stay longer a work visa can be obtained in MoST countries.

Go to the Embassy first and ask them for their newspaper with classified ads.
